The ALISE Board of Directors is pleased to announce that it has established an agreement with the Rowman & Littlefield Publishing group to co-publish the ALISE book series. The book series is a professionally relevant, scholarly sound series of publications on the historic, contemporary, and future roles, values and practices of LIS education and research. It focuses on pedagogical experimentation and innovations, research discovery and frontiers, theoretical advancement, and other related topics of interest to the ALISE community.
ALISE is seeking a Book Series Editor to work with Rowman & Littlefield to publish the ALISE book series.
This is an unpaid position. The Book Series Editor should have the following skills:
- Awareness of trends and directions in the field of Library and Information Science and in cognate disciplines
- Familiarity with authors of the field with regard to their expertise in and experiences with particular areas of LIS education and research
- Knowledge of the book publishing process
- Ability to work with a variety of constituents in the publication process, including editors and authors

- Curriculum vitae
- A cover letter containing 1-3 paragraph biographical statement about you, emphasize your education and experience that’s relevant to take the position of a liaison.
- Brief statements to outline your vision for the book series and describe of the process of the coordinating and organizing effort for the book series
- Name and contact information of or letter of support from one individual who can assess the applicant’s potential to be a successful book series liaison
Submission Deadline for Applications (Extended): January 16, 2018.
Interview of candidates will be conducted virtually.
The Book Series Editor is expected to start in late January or early February 2018.
