We’re asking YOU to join the Global Giving Tuesday Movement by supporting the ALISE community.

Taking place December 3, 2019, is a global day to celebrate the power of community. Coming together every year, now in nearly every country around the world, the GivingTuesday campaign encourages everyone to show up, give back, and change their communities. The goal is to create a shock wave of generosity that lasts well beyond just one day.

Founded seven years ago, the GivingTuesday campaign has inspired millions of people to support causes they believe in. During a time of year when we can get easily lost in material things, GivingTuesday reminds everyone to make time for what is important: community.

Black Friday. Cyber Monday. Giving Tuesday.

ALISE wants to harness that celebration of generosity. We have two meaningful initiatives that help our community grow and thrive:

The ALISE Endowment Fund helps support that annual ALISE award and conference fees for doctoral students and emerging professionals.

The Connie Van Fleet Award Endowment Fund fulfills the mission of ALISE in one of the Association’s key intellectual domains by recognizing LIS research concerning services to adults in public libraries. The award recognizes an individual or a research team for outstanding research contributions in the field of public library services to adults.

GivingTuesday isn’t just about fundraising, but about communities coming together. So whether it’s Tuesday, December 3rd, or any other day of the year, consider supporting those communities you believe in and help them become better for everyone.
