ALISE Conference Wellness - Yoga

Yoga will be offered on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 7:00 am - 8:00am.

Join us for a mindful yoga class to get your day off to a good start. Joanne’s classes go more slowly and deeply into the movements, offering the opportunity for greater inner awareness, stability and safety. Postures that can help us feel comfortable and supported from the inside out during the conference will be emphasized. Bring a yoga mat or towel with you and wear clothes that allow you to move. All ages and fitness levels welcome. No previous yoga experience required.

Joanne Marshall has been teaching yoga and tail chi for over 10 years at UNC Chapel Hill, the Ackland Art Museum and the YMCA. She also completed the Mindfulness Meditation Program at UNC Integrative Medicine. Joanne’s yoga combines mindfulness and movement to provide a deeper insight into mind and body.  She has found that these practices improve strength, flexibility, balance and concentration and contribute to a general feeling of well-being.
