ALISE Update

Dear ALISE Members:

September is going to be a busy month for the association.  Membership renewals for 2011 will start, registration for the 2011 annual conference will open, and many conference items will be due during September.  Therefore, headquarters is planning at least two ALISE Updates for this month.

*ALISE Award Due Dates Approaching:

 

*Doctoral Research Poster Competition Proposals Due:

The Doctoral Student Research Poster Competition offers doctoral students an opportunity to share information about their research projects with the LIS community. Submissions are currently being accepted for this competition.  The deadline is 10/1/10 and space is limited!  For more information, please see the conference website.   

 

*Works In Progress Poster Session Abstracts Due:

Attendees of the conference are invited to share current research through posters presented at the Works in Progress Showcase. Abstracts are currently being accepted for this event.  The deadline is September 15th.  For details, please see the conference website.   

 

*Doctoral Student to ALISE Grant Applications Due:

The ALISE Board of Directors seeks nominations from institutional members for the Doctoral Students to ALISE Grant. The grant supports the attendance of one or more promising LIS doctoral students at the ALISE Annual Conference, which will be held in San Diego, CA on January 4-7, 2011. *2011 Annual Conference Registration Opens September 20th

San Diego – Here We Come! Registration for the 2011 ALISE Annual Conference is opening September 20, 2010.  For conference fees and other information, please see our registration page.

Don’t forget! The Hilton San Diego Resort and Spa (the ALISE hotel) is already taking reservations.  They are offering members FREE in-room Internet service if you register before December 5th and mention ALISE. http://www.alise.org/mc/page.do?sitePageId=116358&orgId=ali

 

*2011 ALISE Membership Drive Starts September 20th

It’s almost time to renew your membership.  Headquarters will be emailing out invoices soon.  The Drive starts September 20th with the opening of the online renewal site. 

Remember! You have to be a 2011 paid ALISE member to get the 2011 ALISE Annual Conference registration discounts.

 

 *2009 Statistical Report Available Online:

ALISE is proud to announce that the 2009 ALISE Statistical Report is available on ALISE.org for members only.  Just start on the homepage, login as a member, go to the Members-only page and view the report.
