2020 ALISE Leadership Academy

January 30-31, 2020 | Palm Desert, CA

Agenda | Registration | Hotel & Travel

Join ALISE for the 2nd annual Leadership Academy, January 30-31, 2020 in sunny Palm Desert, California. The Academy is intended for all prospective leaders in library and information science - the confident, the hesitant, and the curious. The event will feature content relevant to first time attendees and to those who participated in 2019.

Vision 2020: Leading in a Constantly Changing World

The theme for this year’s Leadership Academy is “Vision 2020: Leading in a Constantly Changing World.” Based on feedback from LIS program leaders and past participants, this Leadership Academy will focus on developing your vision for what you plan to accomplish in 2020 and in the future. The Academy will also cover topics to help you succeed as a leader: team building, peer leadership, dealing with conflict, and setting priorities.

Why Attend?

The objective of the Academy is to create communities within library and information science for the exploration of leadership roles as Chairs, Directors, and Deans. We aim to build interest in leadership and to build the confidence of prospective leaders. The Academy also provides prior attendees a forum to reconvene, reflect on their learnings from the past year, and to gain new insights to deploy in 2020.
