As we start to emerge f rom the global pandemic and as our society grapples with critical economic, social, and environmental crises, we must implement resilient measures to move forward and evolve in our field of information science. Members of our community must consider the pandemic’s impact on research, education, and practice and create a proactive plan that is even more inclusive, reflectiv e, and robust than ever. Members of the iFederation, made up of ALISE, ASIS&T, and the iSch ools will address some of the ways their associations are thinking about an d addressing resilience.

Dr. Brian Detlor is Professor of Information Systems in the DeGroote School of Business a t McMaster University, Canada. He also is Visiting Professor at the Centre for Social Informatics, School of Computing at Edinburgh Napier University in Scotland. He currently serves as President of the Association of Informa tion Science and Technology (ASIS&T). His recent research projects invo lve the investigation of digital literacy training programs led by public l ibraries and other local community organizations, as well as the use of dig ital storytelling by city cultural organizations. | |
Dr. Michael Seadle's current research areas are research integrity and long term digital archiving. For almost tw elve years he was Director of the Berlin School for Library and Information Science at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. For six years he was Dean of th e Humanities Faculty. Internationally he still serves as executive director of the iSchools, Inc, a group of over 100 universities with LIS programs w orldwide. He is director of the HEADT Centre (Humboldt Elsevier Advanced Da ta and Text Centre) and leads its research integrity unit. He was editor of Library Hi Tech for 20 years and is still edi tor-in-chief of World Digital Libraries. He chaired the University's Commis sion on Research Malpractice for almost a decade. |
