Presentation Description:

This webinar provides an introduction to the ALISE 2021 Annual Conference that will highlight some of the presentations and a toolkit of resources that can be used to enhance personal and organizational resiliency.

 

Presenters Bio:

Sandy Hirsh

Dr. Sandy Hirsh is currently serving as ALISE President. She is the Associate Dean for Academics in the College of Professional and Global Education at San José State University (SJSU). She previously served as Professor and Director of the SJSU School of Information for ten years. 

Sue Alman

Dr. Susan Alman is the ALISE 2021 Annual Conference co-chair. She is a member of the faculty at the San José State University School of Information, and she has served on the library and information science faculty at the University of Michigan and University of Pittsburgh. Her interest in emerging technologies led her to develop a course, The Emerging Future: Technology Issues and Trends, that focuses on resilience. 

Kim Thompson

Dr. Kim Thompson is the ALISE 2021 Annual Conference co-chair. She is a professor in the School of Information Science and Associate Dean for Academic Affairs for the College of Information and Communications at the University of South Carolina. 

Heather Hillas

Heather Hillas is pursuing her MLIS at San José State University with a focus on public librarianship. She has worked with the Free Library of Philadelphia's Edible Alphabet language and nutrition program and currently holds page and interlibrary loan assistant positions with her local library. Heather earned a Bachelor of Social Work from Temple University and a Master of Science Elementary Education from Saint Joseph's University. 

Leah Stinson

Leah Stinson She currently holds a position as a Digital Librarian with a technology-based media company specializing in cataloging and metadata. She has worked with the American Film Institute, conducting research for their catalog of historical film records. She is pursuing an MLIS degree at San Jose State University's School of Information. Prior to graduate school, Leah earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
