ALISE invites anyone who has an interest in the objectives of the Association to become a personal member. Membership processing is currently open.

Membership Categories:

Full-time: Full-time faculty member, administrator, librarian, researcher or other interested individual, $155.00

Emerging Professional: For doctoral student transition to faculty member status (maximum of 3 years), $85.00

Part-Time/Retired: Part-time and retired faculty members, student or other, $85.00

Student: Students (maximum of 6 years), $40.00

Dues/membership are paid on an anniversary date basis. Please note that if you need to change your membership status (i.e., from Full-time to Retired), you'll need to contact the ALISE office prior to renewing.

  • Subscription to the quarterly Journal of Education for Library and Information Science (non-member price is $135 for an individual subscription, $340 per year for an IP address subscription).

  • Have your interests and concerns represented nationally through our affiliation with American Library Association, American Society for Information Science, Medical Library Association, and Special Libraries Association, among others, and as an association member of the International Federation of Library Associations.
