Job description: The Clinical Assistant Professor position in the Library & Information Science Program (LIS) in the Morgridge College of Education (MCE) is primarily a teaching and service position and will complement the existing strengths of the LIS program and faculty. Areas of expertise that are important to the LIS Program include but are not limited to digital libraries, information technology, knowledge management, archives, and/or records management,. In addition, the successful candidate should be able to teach in the LIS core curriculum (details available at: http://www.du.edu/education/programs/lis/index.html). The Clinical Assistant Professor will have a teaching load of 8 quarter term courses during the academic year with the option of teaching in the summer. In addition to the teaching expectations, this person will also serve as an academic adviser to assigned LIS students. The LIS program has 150-170 students in its program, advisees are dis tributed across the faculty according to students' area of interest. As a member of the LIS MCE faculty, this person will participate in program and college committees and professional service as appropriate. Minimum Qualifications: PhD, EdD, or considerable progress toward completion of the doctorate, and MLIS or equivalent. Preferred Qualifications: Teaching in a higher education environment at either the undergraduate or graduate level in the LIS or related discipline. Evidence candidate values diversity.
