Information Organization Faculty Position

 

The School of Information Studies (SOIS), the iSchool at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM), invites applications for a full-time tenured/tenure-track position in Library and Information Science in Information Organization (IO) at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor with an emphasis on description of print and non-print resources, thesaurus construction, domain analysis, or ontologies. The selected applicant will join an internationally renowned faculty in SOIS’s Information Organization Research Group and in teaching at the doctoral, master’s, and/or undergraduate programs including a masters’ concentration in IO.

The Applicant should have experience or demonstrated ability in design and delivery of courses in a variety of formats, including onsite and online, which is required. The applicant should have the ability to teach in the SOIS undergraduate and/or graduate core courses. The applicant should demonstrate the ability to teach at various levels in information. Preference will be given to senior candidates experienced in teaching and research who can demonstrate a strong record of research and publication. 

 

Required Qualifications:

-PhD in Information Studies (or comparable degree) by beginning of contract term.

-MLIS (or comparable degree).

-Experience or demonstrated ability in design and delivery of courses in a variety of formats, including onsite and online.
