Job description

The LIS Program seeks an Assistant Professor in School Library Media for a  full-time, academic year, tenure-track position. Duties: Lead a highly ranked SLM program. Teach courses in administration and instruction in K-12 school libraries required for state licensure, advise master's students, supervise graduate internships, and participate in state, national, and international professional organizations. Conduct research in digital media, networked youth services, online learning, m-learning, indigenous knowledge, educational technology, cultural sustainability, learning analytics, information technology literacy or related areas.

Faculty work with diverse constituencies, teach the core curriculum, teach using online and hybrid modes, maintain a vigorous research agenda, meet expectations of tenure and promotion, engage in interdisciplinary scholarship, and obtain funding. Applicants must have an earned doctorate from an accredited university in library and information science or related discipline, an MLIS from an ALA accredited program, commitment to effective teaching, and poise and good address for meeting and conferring with others. College or university teaching experience and teaching experience in K-12 schools are preferred.
