The successful candidate must be able to teach all courses in school library media center administration, advise and recruit students, represent the school library perspective at the state level, supervise field experiences, maintain a personal research and publication agenda, participation in professional activities, and serving on university committees. The position includes an option for summer teaching and provides funding for professional development, and conferences. The successful candidate will also be able to teach one or more of the following topics: public policy, literature of the humanities, configuration and management of consortia, social science literature, or records management.
Required Qualifications: Ph.D. or equivalent degree in library/information studies or a related discipline; A.B.D. candidates may apply and will start as Instructors. Master's or equivalent degree from an American Library Association (ALA) accredited program or international equivalent; potential for excellence in research and publishing; experience teaching graduate level courses.
Additional Qualifications Desired: Preference will be given to applicants who have experience teaching online courses; demonstrated abilities to teach and conduct research effectively; successful grant-writing experience; commitment to service. This position will begin in August 2013. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. An offer of employment is contingent on a satisfactory pre-employment background check.
