Candidate's Statement:
As a member of ALISE for the past 15 years, I welcome the opportunity to serve in the important role of Treasurer and to work closely with the ALISE leadership team.  I bring to the role experience managing resources and working with budgets as a researcher and in conference management roles and as Director of the UBC iSchool for the past three years. As an association aligned with the information professions, I believe that ALISE has a responsibility to espouse and model principles of openness, transparency and information governance. My intent as Treasurer will be to demonstrate integrity and a clear commitment to these ideals.

Biography
Luanne Freund is an Associate Professor and Director of the School of Library, Archival and Information Studies, the iSchool at the University of British Columbia, in Vancouver, Canada. She holds an MLS from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (2000) and a PhD in Information Studies from the Faculty of Information at the University of Toronto (2008). Dr. Freund's research and teaching focuses on information retrieval, human information interaction, e-government data and information and LIS education. She has published 60 peer-reviewed publications and her work has been funded by ALISE, the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada and the Canadian Network of Centres of Excellence. In addition to serving as iSchool Director since 2015, Dr. Freund currently serves as an Associate Editor for Information Processing & Management and is a Program Committee member for major information retrieval conferences, including SIGIR, CIKM and CHIIR. She is an active member of ALISE and ASIS&T.
